How to Embed Audio/Video Players in Your Post

If you're going to post YouTube videos, or mp3s from the site that Brian tried on his last post, I recommend using the "object" or "embed" tag. This is a string of html that's usually right near the video. To put it in your blog, copy the whole thing from the original site. Here is the beginning of the tag from Brian's last post. It is in a textbox just below the player when you click his link.

<object height="315" width="400">
<param name="movie" . . .

There is more to the tag, but it should end with </object>

If you copy and paste the whole thing into the blogging window, you should see the player appear right in your blog post! While you're writing the post, there's a "preview" link in the upper right corner of the composition window that you can use to check if you're done it right. Here is Brian's mp3:

Brian, there's also a file upload icon right in the composition window when you're blogging (it is a piece of paper with an up arrow). So you don't have to use a "third party" site to upload mp3s - you can upload them right to my server space if you want.

I really like it that everyone's jumped on board with this. Go family!

Thanks Charlie, I'll be sure to use that from now on. And thanks for getting this going!
