So, just came back from a meeting with the former ambassador to Afghanistan...

...the Downs has some interesting people!

They actually have a friend/relative in the think tank at Kodak, but they couldn't think of the name. So we heard stories of their time in Yemen (among other places) and the extremely interesting lives they've lived. She's been in 70+ countries, and he's only managed about 50.

One of the first stories was that he'd become fluent in classic Arabic and the first time he attempted to buy a newspaper, they all laughed at him as it sounded to them as Chaucer would to us. And their first time flying into Yemen, the pilots wore flip-flops and her fellow passengers were her two year-old daughter, a bunch of drugs and guns, and a goat.

Hope things are well all around.

Goats are always awesome. I wonder what they think of flying? I bet it's something like this.

"Baaaahhhhhh, Mrrrrrrrr, Hrrrr."

Oh, those crazy goats!
