Golfers

Nothing particularly major to note, except that today I talked to a golf pro from Indiana named Tony Pancake. I enjoyed his name so much that I thought I'd share it with the rest of the class.

The cart manager envisioned him as being a guy from The Sopranos, with sort of a mob nickname. I took the idea further and pontificated that he'd gotten the name because he'd performed his first "hit" by running over a guy with a steam roller.

He's bringing another notable name to the course this summer, and I'll pass that on later.

The director of the Computer Science department at OSU for several years of my tenure was a woman named "Cherri Pancake" by marriage. Relation?
