So here we are: halfway through. Maybe is the size of a banana! She's about nine to ten ounces and six inches long. Measurements have been "crown to rump" until this week, but after this week measurements will be head to heel. My belly button has started to pop out just the tiniest bit.
I am definitely able to feel Maybe kicking now! I think I had been feeling it for at least the last month but it was hard to know what it was. She seems to be awake the most in the late afternoons and evenings. I've been able to feel her in the early mornings the last few days, too. I love being reminded that she is with me. What a crazy thing to have a person inside you.
We had a midwife appointment last week and Maybe and I are both are doing well. It was our first meeting with the Illinois midwife, Debbie. I think the three of us will work well together - she seemed to get Charlie's sense of humor at least. We are seeing her again the Thursday before the wedding.
We are having the second ultrasound done this Wednesday. Auntie Banana is planning on coming! We are so looking forward to seeing Maybe again.
Love to you all! Betsy
